Industrial IT and OT communication by IoT Gateway BL110

At present, most PLCs on the market are connected to the OPC UA Server, which is realized by running the OPC UA software on the industrial computer, which requires not only the industrial computer as hardware, but also the purchase of an OPC UA license, which is expensive.
Actually users can directly connect PLCs of various brands to OPC UA servers through OPC UA gateway. Users no longer need the license of the industrial computer or OPC UA software, which greatly reduces the cost and application difficulty.

What is OPC UA?

As an important communication protocol (IEC 62541) in Industry 4.0, OPC UA is also the most promising connection standard in the industrial field.

What is MES?

MESA (Manufacturing Execution System Association, International Manufacturing Execution System Association) white paper defines Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES): "Manufacturing Execution Systems transmit information so that the production process from ordering to finished products can be optimized. optimization.
MES is not just a single information system of a factory, but a system that integrates horizontally, vertically, and between systems, the so-called management system, for various enterprise information systems such as SCP, ERP, CRM, data warehouse, etc. In other words, as long as the factory object is included, MES is inseparable. What is the relationship between OPC UA and MES?
As a functional module of MES, data acquisition system is responsible for providing basic monitoring data for MES, and is an important part of MES. As the underlying data acquisition technology often used in MES, OPC technology is widely used in MES data acquisition systems. OPC UA technology is a new technology proposed by the OPC Foundation, which aims to eliminate its limitations on the basis of satisfying the functions of classic OPC technology.
